Info Post
My new neighborhood is perfect in more ways than one, but I think my favorite thing about it might be the stretch of Notre Dame street between my house and Guy...
The entire stretch is lined with wonderful little shops ranging from homemade soaps, to cupcakes and pastries to antiques and even a huge Salvation Army!
Mike suggested we spend our Saturday morning walking around and checking out all the little boutiques, and after all the window shopping I'd been doing, how could i say no?

So, we set out this morning, dressed for the weather, and went into as many places as we could! The first one was a shop filled with 50's movie posters, strange art and wonderful little trinkets owned by an old man who was listening to a medley of old chart toppers and petting his big grey, fluffy cat!
The next was filled with locally made, scented handsoaps and adorable gift ideas for anyone who might be expecting a baby!
After that we practiced for Paris by stopping in at a little cafe/patisserie and sharing a blueberry crepe and cafe au laits...
We walked around Salvation Army a bit to try and find an old three piece suit for Mike to wear to his cousin's wedding on the 18th. (We didn't find anything..)
And on our way home Mike actually suggested we go in E.R.A. because he'd heard me talk about how much I loved it so many times. (every girl who likes old dresses needs to go: 1800 Notre Dame W)
Well, my habit of chatting with store clerks finally paid off when the clerk happened to be the owner and gave me an absolutely fabulous deal on the most beautiful white Erlebacher knee length coat with shiny black buttons! And she even threw in a free hat + veil when I told her about the wedding coming up!
I walked out of there with a smile stretched all the way across my face and practically skipped all the way back home to hang the coat in it's own special spot in my closet!

My camera still hasn't arrived in the mail yet but i need to document these finds, so back to the trustee camera phone it is!

The gloves are something I picked up on my way home from work the other day in one of the aforementioned antique stores...the little satin roses at the wrists are absolutely wonderful!
