Info Post
I've always wished I was one of those people who is ahead of every curb and somehow the first to discover everything. Alas, I am not that girl, and so I settle for things being new to me, whether or not they are to other people!
On that note, I've had the day to myself today to read Lula and get all drooly over some very dreamy photographs! Now I'm obsessed with the idea of buying some photography books for my bedroom nightstand!
Here are some of the ones I'm especially coveting...

Ellen Von Unwerth
Despite her somewhat pornographic tendencies, she has photographed some of my favourite Lula spreads, as well as some magnificent videos, including the one I posted a little while back, starring Zooey Deschanel for Erin Fetherston's collection!

Rodney Smith
I can't say I know very much about this photographer, and the biography section of his website doesn't offer much insight; talking mostly about how mysterious he always tended to be...
But that just adds to his charm!

Chadwick Tyler
His photographs caught my eye during some random blog lurking today, although I unfortunately can't for the life of me remember which of the beautiful blogs i saw them in...
I wasn't able to find very much information about the photographer himself, but the black and white portraits on his website made me want to hang them in my apartment!

Yelena Yemchuk
Her spread in the 7th issue of Lula was my absolute favourite! Her photographs evoke the most pleasant emotions and it's exactly the feel I'm hoping to give the photographs I'll be taking for my future e-bay store plans!!!

Aside from exploring the exciting world of photography, I've spent some time looking up new (again, only to me) artists that might make my walks to and from work every day less redundant...Mainly, right now, I'm getting pretty into Of Montreal, M.Ward and Beach House. I'm pretty sure Of Montreal has been around for a little while now and I just never really gave them a listen, but from what I've heard their uplifting little diddies are right up my alley! M.Ward is the male half of the She & Him duo which includes my muse/idol Zooey Deschanel...his voice is absolutely enchanting and his songs stay stuck in my head all the time! It helps that someone who I look up to so much (slash am obsessed with) likes him too! As far as I can tell he's been around for a few years, but thats just another bandwagon to add to the list of bandwagons i'm late on jumping onto...
Beach House is a duo from Baltimore that I read about in Nylon or something a few months back and never looked further into...well I should have, because they are great! A little more "downtimey" than Of Montreal, but still nice for relaxing walks and background music while I post very important blog entries!

My vacation in November is feeling more real every day! We've got everything booked except a place to stay in Paris! Here's an idea of our itinerary so far....

November 10th - 15th : Paris
The Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Palace of Versailles, Too much cheese, Lots of touristy photographs by the Seine and in front of the Eiffel tower, Getting jitters from too many Cafe au Laits, climbing stairs in Montmartre and drinking wine on a terrasse no matter how cold it is on my Birthday in Paris!

November 15th-17th: Nancy
Visiting my cousin and his girlfriend at their place in Nancy, which is not very far from the Belgian border. I'm assuming they'll be cooking for us and showing us around. We havn't planned a thing and have no idea what to expect!

November 17th-20th: Nice/Montecarlo
Overnight train from Paris to Nice! 2 days of exploring the lovely town on the French Riviera and a day trip to Montecarlo to gamble the 20$ Mike's dad is giving me and visit the Jacques Cousteau museum!

November 20th-27th: Barcelona
Aside from getting haircuts from our newly engaged hairdresser, we'll be staying in our very own apartment right in the middle of all the action, taking bus tours (upon Laura's request) and gawking at all the strange architecture. Mike is determined to find a bull fight, which I refuse to participate in watching, and I personally am excited just to be in such a different city!

We leave from Paris on the morning of the 28th and I'm sure we'll both be glad to be home to our beloved friends and family, taking about 10 000 pictures and memories and souvenirs home with us!

I'm trying to put together an address book with everyone's addresses so I can send out some postcards while I'm there (keep in mind, there is a chance I won't get around to it, my organization skills leave quite a bit to be desired)...so if you get the chance call me, or e-mail me or even just post your address in a comment so I can send you one too! :)

Lastly, I called home today to find out if my camera had come in the mail and Stef said I had received THREE, count 'em, THREE notices in the mail of packages that had come in for me! That means my camera, the wooden appliques for my vanity desk AND my harajuku samples have come in! What a happy day it will be tomorrow when I can run and pick them all up at the post office! It's going to feel like Christmas!!
Expect TONS and TONS of photos!!!
