Info Post
I figure it's time I make my first real post here. The subject I've chosen to write about is quite obvious for those who are fashion geeks. It's even kind of "old" by now. But I am, and I've always been very inspired and facinated by the "Fetish vs cute"-contrast so I'll write about this anyway: Rubber in fashion. My favourite fetish (actually a fetish of my own) is the rubber, latex, bondage category. Rubber and leather has been used a lot on the catwalk and you see more and more people wearing shiny black shoes and vinylish tights on the streets. It's fun to see a new context for these kind of clothes. The casual becomes kinky. A couple of years ago Dita von teese was the only one who wore these kind of materials, however she's a fetish model so that made sense. But Dita is a bit too retro in my opinion and there's so much more to this look than just the Betty Page style. Here are  a few modern examples:

Gareth Pugh, Franceaco Scognamiglio, Ralph Rucci

It's great to mix these materials with vintage clothes. It gives the harmless 50's shirt a certain twist to add a vinyl skirt for example:
shirt: inherited skirt: gift shoes: gift

A lot of fetish clothes have more to them than just simple sexiness. I find a lot of them to be fashionable and great sources of inspiration. The thing about the vinyl and latex fetish is that the more clothes you put on, the better. So this gives the clothes a unique chance to be both ultra sexy and creatively designed:
