Info Post

Those of you who have been reading this here blog for awhile may recall the exciting events of October 2006, when I discovered a stash of many-seasons-old designs at the Prada outlet in Hong Kong, including a dress in the reissued Holiday & Brown vintage pink and green print from F/W 2003 that I'd pined after for years. {That is me in my dress above, some time back. You can't see my face, but let me assure you it is insanely happy.}

So imagine my dismay/shock/incredibly-huge-jaw-drop when at Filene's yesterday I discovered a brand called Single Dress had produced some (SO-not-cute) dresses in a near-identical print!

Let's compare: That's the imposter on the left, and real Prada on the right.

Okay, so the fabric was a flimsy nylon (as opposed to my Prada silk) and the cut was a shapeless shift style with ruffles on the sleeves (as opposed to my Miuccia-approved slim-cut sheath) and the print is not exactly the same, but the similarities are undeniable. And really, does this company know the lengths I went through to get this dress? Is this fair? Hrumpf.
