Nothing says "spring!" like ruffly vintage dresses!
Info Post
Yesterday was bright and sunny and just a teensy bit chilly, making it the perfect day for this long-sleeved polka-dot vintage dress I'd scored for $10 at the Rockville Goodwill a few weeks ago (which, according to the DC Goodwill Fashionista herself, is the most consistently great Goodwill in the area. We agree. It did not disappoint!)
Mike and I ran some errands, did some thrifting (okay, I did some thrifting, and he sat outside and ate an apple) and finally ended up in Bethesda for the Bethesda Row trunk sale, which was really quite stocked and very fun.
I shopped around and did some serious hemming and hawing over a sweet little Marc by Marc Jacobs brocade dress that was 70 percent off at Urban Chic, but it was eventually decided against by a committee of interested gatherers for being just a little bit not quite right. Even at 70 percent off, that dress is equal to about 12 dresses from Goodwill, after all. Or half the Tracy Reese dress that I'm still dying over from Anthropologie. Which is still not on sale. Sigh.
We also met the lovely Gretchen from upcoming Bethesda Row spot Ginger, who might even open her doors as soon as this weekend. One of her highly adorable saleswomen was wearing an insanely great tunic-length belted cardigan with puffed sleeves from eco-queen Linda Loudermilk; that alone might be reason enough to go up there and check out her shop. (Also, have you been to Bethesda? It's surprisingly charming!)
We are off to enjoy the sunshine. See you in a bit!
