Info Post

A fabulous, riotous surrealist movie from the Czech 60s new wave. The loose narrative follows the adventures of two girls as they revolt against a decaying and oppressive society through various pranks, mischief and an epic food fight. Hilarious, entertaining and wholly unique. - Electric Sheep Magazine

Every outfit in this film is incredible and every scene the perfect screengrab, so it's unsurprising that it's a blogger favourite. I finally saw Sedmikrásky, or Daisies, in London, accompanied by a live jazz score - and loved it. It's girls being silly - or "going bad"- getting drunk, giggling, falling over, being overly indulgent and swinging from the chandeliers, all while making a statement about society and feminism [EDIT: here is a good essay about that]. And gosh it's a pretty film. My favourite scene - where the pair go to a bar, bring their own beer and proceed to get drunk and disrupt everyone else - below.
