Info Post

Linda McCartney, was a well known rock photographer before she met her Beatle husband Paul. She photographed practically every popular band of the sixties. Her work is spontaneous and intimate. Before she became a photographer, Linda worked for Town & Country Magazine. Linda's big break was in 1966, with the Rolling Stones. At work she had recieved an invitation (that wasn't addressed to her) to a press reception for the Stones, scheduled to take place on board a Yacht. When she got there there were many reporters and journalists everywhere, and most of the photos being taken were distant shots of the group standing on the deck. Linda was the only photographer allowed in the boat. She cruised the Hudson, snapping photos of the Stones. She said she never knew why she was the only photographer on board ( maybe because the Stones wanted a young blonde-haired girl on board). But, from then on she made a living from photography, which led her to England where she eventually met Paul and the rest is history...
