Info Post

I used to share an office with Flip Grater, a wonderful woman and friend with an odd moniker. She plays the most spine chillingly beautiful music. I guess it's folk. You should listen to her album here and if you're in Paris or London or Italy right now, perhaps you should go see her play live. I would. Here are some things that Flip likes...

1. Sundays. I get up early on Sundays so they last longer. I love to read the Sunday paper front to back, eat a long breakfast that becomes lunch, do the Sunday crossword and in summer, G+Ts on the lawn in the afternoon.

2. Water. Being in it. Especially the sea, but a hot tub will do.

3. Scotch. A peaty single malt. Neat. Favourites are Laphroaig and Ardbeg.

4. Cooking. And reading and writing recipes.

5. My new album While I’m Awake I’m At War – I’m really proud of what we’ve done with it. Tim Guy did an amazing job of producing it and we had a fantastic bunch of musicians playing on it.

6. Crown Lynn – I’ve been collecting Crown Lynn since I was 15. I collect pastel Colourglaze and the teal super-vitrified range.

7. Being on tour. Meeting new people, performing, travelling. Bliss.

8. Dumplings – The perfect food. My recipe has shiitake mushrooms , garlic, ginger and coriander stalk.

9. Walking – Particularly around new cities. It forces you to do nothing but put one foot in front of the other.

10. Finding the perfect vintage dress – I have a slight obsession with polyester 70’s cocktail dresses. Plus they’re perfect for touring as you can throw them straight into a suitcase without worrying about creases!
