Info Post

Don't use the colour green. The person's eyes must connect with the reader. Models with long, luscious hair sell more copies. These are just some of the random cover theories I overheard while working at Fashion Quarterly magazine. I'm not sure if any of them are true (here's a good article that discusses the green is bad theory), but it did spark a fascination with the psychology behind magazine covers. What makes a good cover? What makes a certain cover become so iconic? Why is Kate Moss always on the cover of British Vogue? I should probably further this fascination by reading up on it or doing a paper in it...but for now, I will pore over all the magazine covers on this awesome website Cover Junkie.
