Below: Jil Sander Navy Spring Summer 2011 Bags... 30-40% lower priced than the main collection...What do you think? Do lesser price means lower appeal?
Jil Sander Navy Spring Summer 2011 Womens Bags
We are all aware of the gorgeous Jil Sander bag designs recently from their main collection, especially those from Spring Summer 2011. Much as these bags are 'to-die-for', to not just admire them from a distance, you must be prepared to pay a hefty price tag:-)
Not all Jil Sander fans can afford the main line. Jil Sander is aware of the situation. Hence, the birth of the Jil Sander Navy line, a more casual lifestyle collection with at least 30-40% lower price than the main collection. Now you can buy into the brand without burning out your bank account.
Let's have a look at the new offerings from the Spring Summer 2011 bag collection. Do lower price translate to lower quality and lower appeal?
Apparently for me, it's a mixed feeling towards the collection. The nylon ones are not exactly aesthetically pleasing, bordering on the cheap side and way too simple in thought (resembling Agnés B). However, good news is, amongst the less than desired nylon versions... there are printed canvas versions that taps on the graphic and minimalist aesthetics of the brand to create modern bags suited for the well heeled Jil Sander women. I love the totes with contrast panelling in greys and blues, or the orange or blue abstract printed ones. Both bears the Jil Sander DNA, showcasing simplicity speaks more volume than complexity.
The leather ones are also noteworthy. Duffel shaped navy patent leather satchels, pale green hobo styles and a classy black leather tote are all worthy of investing your Spring Summer budget on. Because of the neutral designs, I feel these bags are also suited for men as much as for ladies:-)
Unfortunately, the bags are not available at SG Jil Sander Boutique. Only RTW pieces will be stocked in January 2011. So time to head outside of SG for the bags!
Jil Sander Navy is available at Jil Sander Boutique, Hilton Hotel Singapore (Unit 02-22/23 Hilton Hotel, Tel: 6304 1353).
