repeat after me
Info Post
I had never seen an Elvis film until earlier this week, after my boyfriend brought home Viva Las Vegas. It is brilliant fluff - Lucky (Elvis) races cars and needs to find the cash for a new engine; while doing so he's charmed by a sassy girl named Rusty - and was described by the New York Times as being "about as pleasant and unimportant as a banana split". That's a review that is almost as brilliant as the dance scene in the video above. Ann-Margret as Rusty, with her messy red hair, pink swinging dress, cropped tops, wind-blown full skirt and candy colours, has been added to my long list of '60s style icons.
