I Covet: Headpieces/Fascinators

I was just starting to get into hats and headpieces when the amazing Sherbetone wore this outfit.

Honestly, my head nearly exploded. From there, the obsession grew after articles by Liebemarlene and an introduction to Mooka Kinney from both The Vintage Society and Neet Magazine. They have also been spotted on Gala Darling and the Clothes Horse.

While these items are extremely difficult to find they can be found in thrift stores and on the internet.
This one from Plaid Pony Vintage is made out of gauze (I know it looks like straw!). I think that this piece would probably look better on a brunette because it might blend in too much with blonde hair. To modernize it wear with something a tiny bit tough such as black shoe boots or a shirt with studs.

This feathered piece is from Sydney's Vintage Clothing. It is absolutely beautiful and would look amazing with either a monochromatic outfit in similar tones or with a clashing colour and matching accessories. I particularly love the royal blue colour because there is very little that royal blue looks absolutely terrible with.

Finally, this beautiful cloche from Hemlock Vintage. Really, really beautiful and really, really old. It is amazing sometimes how an inanimate object can make you feel like everything is going to be okay.

So a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. A big thank you to all the people who have stuck by me even though my posting has been patchy. A new year has brought a new layout and hopefully a new commitment to this blog.
