They'll be Swingin', Swayin', Records Playin'

With our departure only eight days away, Mike and I have been busy making lists, budgets, itineraries and most importantly playlists! Last summer we were both crazy obsessed with the song Portland Oregon by Loretta Lynn and Jack White and since neither of us has listened to it much since then we decided to bring it back in the spirit of our roadtrip to the South, and it sparked a whole list of artists we need to put back on our iPods as the sound track to our summer!

It includes - though is not limited to:

• David Bowie (Especially his weird 70's stuff that's just a bunch of crazy noises)

• Charles Mingus (Fables of Faubus always makes me feel like I'm on an exciting secret mission!)

• Starvin' Hungry (an awesome band from Montreal that you really should check out!)

• Mastodon (I promised Mike at Christmas that I'd give the new album a chance, and he's been waiting for our trip to hold me to that promise...)

• Matt Pond P.A.
• The Get Up Kids
• Blink 182

Anyhow the list goes on, it's actually quite long, but I always love suggestions! I'm not much of any good at discovering new music and I tend to just stick with what I know and like until someone puts some music directly into my hands and I like it! Then I'm usually two years late on hopping on a bandwagon and I feel all silly for being so excited about them. Regardless, I appreciate new music as much as the next, so if anyone has some great road tripping music to suggest, send it over my way!!
