I spent my day yesterday turning our road trip van into a tiny little home on wheels for Mike and I, and I couldn't be more excited about leaving on Sunday!
I'm absolutely positive it's going to be so hard for me to want to come home after three weeks in the South, but at least now I can dream about it, actually having been, rather than basing my view of the area on movies, books and pictures, most of which date back to more than fifty years ago!
In my frenzy to come up with ingenious packing ideas that would save me the trouble of living out of a suitcase for three weeks, I came across my Dad's old National Geographic collection. I never really liked National Geographic because of it's tendency to lean more towards the Graphic rather than the National Geography part of its name...but this travel issue from June, 1954 just about broke my heart!
