Secret Lagoons and Fireflies

I can't quite describe how wonderful today has been without getting all giddy and nostalgic, which is silly since it's really only our first full day here in the U.S.A!
Mike and I spent the most amazing Monday afternoon swimming in the most magical highway side lagoon with Jason and his buddy Clinton, complete with butterflies, waterfalls and 1950's one piece swimsuits!

We followed up our afternoon swim with some wine and cheese in Jason's backyard, which is home to about a million fire flies and a very adorable bunny rabbit who was way too quick for me to actually catch a picture of him!

We ended our night at Gibbie's, a local watering hole where I finally got to meet so many of the characters that Mike talks about so often, and taste one of Andy Mac's world famous Whisky Sours! The theme song for our trip so far has been Boston's More Than a Feeling, which the Gibbie's jukebox luckily had on hand, so singalongs were a necessary side order to our late night bonding!

Overall our first day here has been un-describably good! We're sticking around here tomorrow so I can check out a sweet antique shop we stumbled across while Mike gets his West Virginia Wild and Wonderful tattoo, then we'll be heading to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for some Dollywood action on Wednesday! If this kick off is any sign of what's to come than this promises to be the very best vacation I've ever been on!
