Info Post

The Apple Boutique was the Beatles' first commercial venture. It opened it's doors on December 5, 1967. The only Beatles in attendence were: John and George. The only drink available that night was apple juice. The building was four-story 19th century house, on Baker Street. The project started in September 1967. The Beatles hired the Dutch design team the Fool, and were given 100,000 pounds to design and stock the boutique. They painted a large psychedelic mural on the outside wall, but were forced to paint over it after neighboring businesses complained. Sadly, the Apple Boutique was a financial disaster and closed just 8 months after it opened. On Tuesday morning: July 30, 1968, the staff were told to give everything left in stock away.
