If you compare the length of Jane Birkins legs in the first and second picture, there is a big difference, and this is because of the angles
So these are my natural proportions and I usually take pictures from this angle because if you wear high heels this is enough to make you seem tall.
When you ask a person to take your full body picture it is natural for them to hold the camera in a face level. The problem with this is that your proportions get all wrong and your legs seem a lot shorter than they really are.
This angle can be cute though, especially if it's exaggerated like this. Then it's obvious that the proportions are not correct and it just looks cute
However, if you want to seem like you have longer legs than in real life, you put the camera in your knee-level. This is the angle most fashion photos are taken in. This way your legs seem much longer and it's a great angle to show off your shoes!
The problem with this angle is that some people who are a bit heavy might look even heavier. Perhaps that's why models looks like skeletons...
My last tip is to never put your legs towards the camera since that kind of space is impossible to see from that angle. Try to create diagonal space with your legs in order to make them seem longer. This is especially important if you are sitting down since you might end up looking like a dwarf if you put your legs toward the camera.
