At the moment I am designing miss Lara Vincent's lookbook for her Flowers of Evil. This lady's custom floral headresses are masterpieces made of silk and leather. You must visit her etsy boutique for some fine treasure bows charmed with stones and bones and little sharks! Below she chats with me about her recent adventures in nyc... she is the loveliest of creatures!

Miss Lara, where is home?
I was born in Toronto, grew up in Winnipeg and lived in South Carolina for a few years in the beginning. Since then I moved back to Toronto, lived in London and am currently living in New York. My first place I lived in NYC I found on craigslist. it was a share with another women. When the cab was pulling up to the place I was a little surprised to find out it was the Hotel Chelsea, what a nice surprise. I tend to move around a lot though, I think I have lived in 14 different homes in total, which leaves me with 6 more before I cant count them on my fingers and toes anymore.
What do you daydream about
I believe in magic so I am always dreaming about that. And if I think about things enough they come true.
childhood ambition
When I was little I loved french fries soo much that i always dreamed about working for Mc Donalds. Luckily my magic didn’t work on that dream.
What was your style like growing up
I went to an all girls private school for 11years and wore this little school girls uniform so when I finally transferred to a public school and had a chance to express my self in what I wore, that’s exactly what I did, I thought everyday was mufti day(what our private school called days that you didn’t have to were your uniform) and would alternate between wearing fairy wings, and devil horns with these big pink sparkly platform shoes that made me 6 2”. And I only wore skirts, in the dead of the Winnipeg winter, I think my legs are now permanently numb to the cold they can withstand anything.
Favorite spot in New York
Lure oyster bar under the prada store in soho, they have happy hour from 5-7 with one dollar oyster and 6$ wine. mmm
Tell me about the treasures you dazzle your hair clips and heart pouches with
I like to pick up little treasures in stores and on the street to make my hair clips. shark teeth, fortune cookies, and bone bats. No matter how small the hair clip may be there is big love put into it.
Style muse
Betsey johsnon- who I have worked for and with for the past 5yrs. She is the kookiest, sweetest grandma/mentor.
what are you listening to
I listen to elliot smith every night when going to bed to drown out the city sounds, and clanky heater
Everything David Bryne, best to dance to in the mornings
Velvet Underground and Violent Femmes to get the creative juices flowing
favorite color
dusty rose
what's next
My Next adventure entitles me moving to Toronto into my very own place, its an old Mansion that has been converted into apartments. From there I will create my line of headdresses and hair clips for all to love.
sounds magical. transport that mansion to central park, add some ghosts and were set!
