Excited? You will be now. GALA CURIOS has arrive in Violent Green stores! High five, hoot hoot, whooop whoop! Yes, we've been loving what Gala Curios designer Jasmine Noir has been doing for the past few seasons and finally its available in the VG stores. Her new range is titled "Faux". Here's the blurb:
Seen as inferior to the 'natural' counterparts, faux finishes and synthetic materials raise all manner of oppositions between good and bad taste, the beautiful and the ugly, the expensive and the cheap, and ultimately, the 'real' and the 'fake'.
Deliberately 'fake', the FAUX collection evokes an artificial nature, playing with synthetic imitations of wood, stone, glass, gems and flora.
Resin, cloisonne enamels, intricate floral metal detailing, and digitally printed leathers in the range mimic 'natural' patterns, forms and textures. Synthetic flowers have been frozen into shape and dipped into nickel and copper, to create hyper-real body ornaments, while metal plating and synthetic gemstones complete the illusionistic surface and material treatments of the collection.
