Info Post

Somewhere this week I got a phonecall by Georgette Koning, who is one of the best journalists here in The Netherlands. Some of you may know her from her many publications in several magazine through out the years, others may also know her from other things, such as guest-blogging for Diane Pernet or being involved with the Arnhem Mode Biennale.

Anyway, we talked about gender, unisex, androgynes, etc. Mostly having the focus on female looks and styles for men. Like handbags, boots with a heel, maybe a haircut or a change in lengthes. Thinking of the trend collection for men by H&M or the magazines who now-a-days put guys in dresses and in several women-items, knowing it will push our lines and limits.

Not to forget about Cole Mohr for Marc Jacobs or the Prada collection for boys with skirts. Remembering the bathing-suit by McQueen or simply Pharrell Williams rocking womens Lanvin glasses and a huge colourfull Birkin Bag by Hermes. Oh when it comes down to male and female and the perfect twist with a certain, yet right, edge.. I can go on for hours!

But but but.. back to the story! As in Yesterday she put a part of our talk in NRC Next, as you can see above. I simply hope it will inspire a few more guys to peek at the womens-department or just open-up their minds. Hopeing the same goes for the girls here. In the end, it's mostly about having fun, play with lengths, shapes, inside-out or upside-down.

And for the record, I'm not in for pushing it too far, no drag-show on the streets for me. But a certain feminine edge, that's just very, very lovely. Ha. x
