Mike and I spent the weekend in Ottawa with my cousins and their kids, playing charades, watching Star Wars spoofs, eating delicious food and generally enjoying our time away from the distractions of home!
Today, he leaves for Europe with his band for a month! They'll be doing 25 countries in 26 days and I could not be happier for him! They've worked so hard to get where they are, and for all the joking I do about not liking their band (the music they play is a little out of my usual genre), I'm so incredibly proud of him!
I'll be taking a pretty serious break from internet and real life activities for the rest of the semester. I realized I let myself start to slack a little bit and now I have to catch up on old school work over and above the mountain of future assignments and exams! Looks like reading week should have been spent doing slightly more productive things!
I will be taking full advantage of my ownership over Mike's car while he's gone to spend as much time at my parent's house as possible!
More and more every day I realize how tired the city makes me! I'm definitely a true country mouse and I think more and more about the day that I finish this bachelor's and can get a job teaching at a little country school house in the Eastern Townships and hole myself away with Mike in our cottage-esque home and read books by the fire!
We've already started looking at places to buy!!!! Aside from the peace and quiet, another advantage to living in the country is that the prices are considerably lower!
So in the spirit of leaving the city behind, for the serenity of the country side, here are a few pictures I found to represent my mood. They're all from the last year or two...mostly taken by Mike or myself!
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
Escape!!!
