Céline Spring Summer 2012 Bags

Each season Céline managed to capture what their fans want and create more desirable colours and variants of their already coveted bags. From Luggage, Luggage Phantom, Box Flap to Trapeze and my favourite Cabas tote... I am excited by the new Spring Summer 2012 collection which features forest green and burgundy in abundance. The deep green shade is refreshing and injects a dose of subdued sophistication against the muted crimson tone of burgundy. Suede adds a tactile texture to the designs, contrasting them against satin calfskin, adding to the bags' appeal. There is also a new design for summer 2012, in the form of a hobo style with 2 sizes to choose from. However, I am not exactly a fan, but I am sure some ladies will find these bags in their collection as soon as they hit the stores. That is the power of Céline seduction.

Again, my choice pick is the Cabas tote. I can never get enough of these versatile and functional bags even after owning 4! Now my sights are set on the python and Khaki suede version... it's mine, it's mine!

Michelle Williams + Red Carpets = Perfection

Though I love my pre-awards show red carpet as much as the next fashion girl (Brad! Ange! Eeee!), I'm completely bored of the strapless bodice-mermaid hemline thing that so many stars insist on. (People: Repeat after me. Strapless necklines are just not your friend, not even if you're teensy and toned.)

Which is why Michelle Williams always seems like a breath of fresh air. Not only is she intimidatingly well-spoken, her fashion choices are unique, stylish and elegant. And the pixie cut! We applaud her chutzpah in modern-day Hollywood, when everyone else is rocking the perfectly tousled bedhead thing. We'll be sad when awards season is over, if only because we won't get to see Michelle in a flurry of perfect dresses. (But until then: The Oscars are a-coming! We can't wait.)

California's Central Coast, January 2012

I feel the same way about city life as I do about any of life's great excesses; one can only handle so much before the proverbial debauched cup runneth over. Jamming an overabundance of stimulation down my gullet seems to bring me further and further away from and that inner-peace thing that everyone is always yammering on about, even if it is a damn good time. Don't get me wrong, I fucking love New York with all my heart and soul, and if I wasn't such a gluttonous beast maybe I could even reside there full time, but I also need the original beauty that is mother nature in her best party dress, and like coming home to mother, California's central coast gives me all that and more. This place will always be my home no matter where I'm currently living, and knowing it is there for me amidst the chaos is my safety blanket that's always held close to my heart. If you have one thing, you always want the other - the grass is always greener thing is older than time, but when I'm sitting with my feet in the sand, saltwater in my hair, and absent are the sounds of everything but wind in the trees, and waves on beach, things couldn't get much greener. It may sound like a farce, how could the solemnity of soundless nights not filled with RSVP's, gratuitous champagne, and air kisses be better than the raucous carousing the big cities can offer up? Thoreau said "As you simplify your life, the law of the universe will be simpler," and I'm starting to think he knew what he was talking about.
