Burberry Launches Burberry Body Today!

You have seen the provocative advertising campaign featuring the sexy British actress/model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. And you have been wanting to experience the fragrance and adding another facet of Burberry into your lifestyle... The wait is finally over...

Today, 1st September marks the launch day for Burberry Body: Burberry’s most most sensual and feminine fragrance with notes of rose and iris combined with woody top notes to create an an unmistakably British scent.

“We have been working on this for a few years now. Burberry Body for us is so much more than a fragrance; it is the biggest launch we have ever done, one that captures all the modernity and heritage of this British brand today, reflecting all the facets that make up the Burberry world. We wanted to create something iconic, unique and special – placing the attitude and energy of the trench coat at the centre – connecting everything we do from music, collections, touch, scent, our stores, online platforms and communities. We are uniting all our audiences and giving them a very distinctive point of view.”

And choosing Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was a wise and natural choice for the British luxury brand, as Christopher Bailey explains:

“Rosie is this beautiful, sensual English rose and perfectly captures the spirit of Burberry. She has this perfect balance of sensuality and confidence with humility. Burberry is part of her history and it felt perfectly natural for her to be our first Burberry Body.”

Burberry Body extends beyond fragrance and includes Eau de Parfum, Eau de Parfum Intense, Body Milk and Body Oil. Make your way down to any Burberry beauty counter at your nearest departmental store to sample this fresh scent debut.

(As part of the global Burberry Body launch, a new capsule Nude collection also debuts worldwide today. Check out the pics here!)

For a few years now, I've been following the dream-like photography work of Jessica Silversaga via her flickr page, so I was delighted when she purchased a few pieces from me for some exciting sounding summer festival.

You can spot the first photo including the Northern Alps Halo and the Scalloped Mesh Crop Top.

Our plans to shoot together in the, hopefully not-so-far future, are underway!

hair brained

let me braid your hair
For those of you who have expressed interest in learning more about my snooki brain hair I've made a tiny tutorial on the subject here! (I backdated the post because I was embarrassed to have it pop up on the main page lest some stranger stroll along and witness my sorry tutorial skills.)

Still in the midst of blog re-model and apologize if your screen is being harassed by my ginormous everything! In the meantime check out the new (and growing) links page! Am very pleased at finally sitting down and paying some much needed attention to this old blog.

Back soon pals! Here's a mix I made last August 31st.

The Material Boy #491

Below: Prada Brogues alternative? Loving these Comme Des Garçons SHIRT Vibram Sole Brogue Shoes...

Comme Des Garçons SHIRT Vibram Sole Brogue Shoes

Been lusting over a pair of Prada's thick wedge sole brogues but put off by the high price? I found a great alternative by an equally avant garde brand. Comme Des Garçons SHIRTs Vibram Sole Brogue Shoes offers similar quirky styles but at less than half the price. Retailing at £275 pounds, this shoe is much lighter in weight than Prada's. Of course, you do not get the coloured stripe soles and panelling, but if you are the understated dresser, these fit you perfect.

Saw them at Club 21's Bangkok boutique and I would grab a pair myself! If not, get them online from my wardrobe.

Nadinoo on Tumblr

Nadinoo_tumblrNadinoo on Tumblr

Since deciding to keep the blog as a place for original Nadinoo content there has been no place to post all those inspiring images that influence our collections. So the decision to join the exciting world of Tumblr seemed like an obvious one. Keep loosing hours of my life researching through beautiful imagery, I know it's quite a late discovery but better late than never..

If anyone has any amazing Tumblr tips, inspiring people to follow or advise on how on earth you customize that header please do tell!

Hope you enjoy the images that are keeping me inspired :)

show off

Hello! If you are interested in reading our thoughts on New Zealand Fashion Week, which begins tonight, please read Grazia Daily and The New Zealand Herald. We'll also pop a few things up here too. The picture above is from a Chanel show in the late 1950s. We're hoping that a leopard print skirt suit with matching helmet will make an appearance this year. If you have anything in particular you would like us to write about, please write a comment and we'll do our darnedest!

bestest

Am safely tucked away with my best friend forever Rebecca and stand-in husband Ethan (Landon is presently in Mexico City for his first ever solo show) to weather  the storm. So far we've collectively consumed two pints of Ben and Jerry's, three bags of microwave popcorn, kale salad, one bag of utz (only one!), half a watermelon, two pitchers of homemade sangria and one season of Drag Race.

Earlier in the day, between repeat trips to the bodega downstairs for utz and icecream, Rebecca and I put on a bunch of make-up and sparkly dresses and took pictures around our stormy apartment. Isn't she most beauteous? I'm so fortunate to have her here!

Hope all my east coast pals are staying as safe and sound and happily fed as we are!

Impending Hurricanes: A Great Reason to Go Shopping*

*As if I really needed one

So, Irene's a-coming. Which means: cute rainwear! Here's my shopping list:

1. Lipstick red patent rain hat. When hoods alone won't cut it.

2. Patagonia Torrentshell jacket. I love me a classic trench, but torrential downpours call for a a serious waterproof jacket. Picked mine up on sale at CitySports here in D.C.

3. Colorwheel umbrella. Finally! Some justification to buy this umbrella, which I've loved for years. The perfect antidote to a gloomy day.

4.
Maine hunting boots, LLBean. Yes, wellies are great. But these rugged, lace-up LLBean boots give instant storm-survivor cred, plus will be perfect should Snowmaggedon II descend later this winter.

Oh, and a flashlight, PB&J and a stockpile of movies. We're ready!
