Coach Bag New York Launch Event

Crazy night; seeing something you designed being sold at an actual store, even crazier because it happens to be a Coach bag, and your name happens to be on the label. On top of it all, I was lucky enough to go to the launch party to celebrate with some of my best friends, and meet so many great new people who came out to celebrate. I'm so proud to be a part of such an monumental collaboration with a distinguished brand like Coach.

Would you like to come to Juliette Hogan's show at New Zealand Fashion Week? Juliette has kindly given us two double passes to the show to giveaway, which is rather exciting as she is one of our favourite designers - and the collection that she will show looks like it is going to be beautiful!

If you (and a friend) would like to come along (and will be in Auckland on the day of the show), email us with your name and address before September 8th. We'll select the two winners at random, and notify them the next day. Good luck!

Summer Colors

I took these photos for my installation at Selfridges in July. Each of these subjects perfectly captured summer in fresh splashes of color. Check out www.gillianhorsup.com to find spectacular bracelets, rings, and earrings like the ones Gillian is wearing above!

jazz hands

What do you listen to while you work? Sometimes I listen to Motorhead, sometimes I stream the Rose Quartz blog, but most of the time I listen to Sam Cooke, or jazz. I am listening to Chet Baker and it's breaking my heart.

In Appreciation of Longer Skirts

Sorry, summer. With your humidity that makes my hair look like a big frizzy puffball, and your sweat-inducing temperatures, I'm ready for fall. And I am SO ready for full, mid-calf skirts, a la the Louis Vuitton (above, just below) and Marc Jacobs (far below) fall collections. Thrifters, take note: I've been scouring for '50s and '80s versions out there, and there are definitely some good finds to be had.

Just passing through.

Hitting up antique malls and old stand-by's.
Pinching pennies and daydreaming.
Clearing out the attic and hearing all the old stories again
. . . Just a few of the ways I've been passing the time!
