grown up shoes

It seems like it's about time to buy some grown-up lady shoes.
Aren't they beautiful?

It comes very natural to me as a photographer to "dot" instead of doing strokes when drawing.
I make these dot women when I'm on the bus or in the tube.
I thought I'd share it with you.

I'm afraid I'll be going again tomorrow, so there is a possibility that this will be the last blog post in at least 2 weeks. We're going to London for Carl's cousins wedding and when we get home, we'll be at the Swedish coast for a week. I have a really cute dress for the wedding that I'll show when I get back! ;)

Stockholm is really hot this week! Yesterday I lay in the park all day reading books and eating sandwiches. A great way to stay cool is to wear long and lose skirts. They really do cool your legs as you walk. I've also been wearing hats all summer to avoid getting burned by the sun. I can never find a pair of sunglasses that suit me, but the hat is a great substitute for shades!

So here's what I'm wearing on a hot day. (I realise that the colour isn't the best, but I mainly stay in the shade anyway ;) )

Hat: Thrifted in Berlin
Top: Borrowed from sister
Skirt: Grandmother's old
Bag: Gift
Shoes: Vedins skor

The lovely Brenda of Sydney-based accessories label The Benah sent me through the lookbook for her new range of bags and scarves, LIVING LIGHT. It's a delight - all cool, natural tones - canvas and leathers, silks and cottons. I'm particularly fond of the little Lucian Mini Satchel in fawn and tan, aren't you? I'm going to enlist Brenda to do a top ten for So Much To Tell You soon...

kate is great

I really like this pretty pink dress from Kate Sylvester's S/S '11 collection.

Acne Resort 2010

2 parts Zoro, one part Three's Company... kind of loving this mash-up. The chunky shoes are quickly feeling like a Fall "must-have". I pulled out my old Acne "Luv Telephone" wide-legs today and they got a little love from the peeps at the office. Are you feeling the 70's vibes?

mens fashionweek spring 2011, part 4.

And that was it. Or well, at least for now. Damir Doma was amazing and so we're a couple of others. Ofcourse ones STYLE dot COM doesn't feature, but I will. Coming any day soon, yes. As for now, new favorites:

Acne
If only they had a better lookbook, gosh. The collection for Spring/Summer 2011 looks great. Styling wise, great, items separated from each other great. But oh goddamnit the lookbook. Will do a new post when I visited the showroom.

Balenciaga
Simple, classic, stunning.

Dunhill
Kim Jones, rocks. The modern, not so trendy, male will hopefully wear this. It's almost not eyecatching, but if you look closely, details. The suits and blazers are insane, deeeply in love!

Thom Browne
If anyone made a statement this season it was Thom. Besides having the models walk the runway with sunglasses and colored lips, it as all about the two-button and knee-length trousers, suits. Lots of lines, shark-prints and great styling. Any men who dares, please do. Oh yes, please do!

Treats in the post

My very own unique copy of the Werk no. 17 Eley Kishimoto arrived in the post today, was so excited to flick through the fabrics and see some of the inner workings of this clever duo. If like me you adore prints and vibrant colours this book is feast for your peepers, and does not disappoint! Packed with sketches, inspirational images and even pics from their family photo albums. With only 1000 copies made I would recommend you hurry while they are still in stock!
Love the contrasting childhood pics of Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto.
Each edition uses archive Eley Kishimoto materials in a slightly different way, so that no two are exactly the same (how cute!). A bundle of four fabrics on both the front and back of the book act as its cover, with the back four folding over the spine and secured to the front with staples and dress making pins, mimicking, say Work, "a textile work-in progress".
