Apparently Pierre already considered this? Who knew? This is my kind of art.

*All of these items come only in grey.
What am I to do? Do I submit to the grey-ness or do I fight it? I have no idea. But here are some other grey items for your viewing pleasure...
PS. I feel I should have made some pun or joke about Grey's Anatomy in this post, but I cannot think of anything appropriate or slightly witty. Sorry for the oversight.

nt. Lee (the denim brand) has t-shirts and denim made from organic cotton as does Mavi. Tree of Life provides employment opportunities in struggling areas. Trashbags (trashbags.com.au) creates accessories from recycled materials. However, the ecologically-friendly brand I’m most excited about is Bird. This organization creates gorgeous clothing, is climate-neutral, run on solar power and all designs are hand-painted and hand-sewn. That’s what I call impressive.
My outfit for the evening was a fairly gross silver lurex t-shirt dress over a black long sleeve shirt, black argyle tights and red socks. Needless to say walking home was tragic. Speaking of tragic, I still have reservations about metallic tights, especially white ones. I don't think that anyone can really pull that off, but hey, surprise me.

This was the only picture that I loved. I don't know why but $10 says it's the bow. The plaid dress isn't horrible either.
(Man, I love photoshop.) I attached that awesome material to the top part of the dress. Hopefully, I will get around to making a shirt out of it and eighties-ing up with high-waisted pants. Because if I can't do it now when can I?
It's lovely isn't it? It was also on the first page when I image searched 'boyfriend cardigan' in Google. Google is the shit. I shouldn't write posts after drinking but I wasn't sure how long it had been since I'd posted. Sorry.

I love how she makes the weirdly proportioned pants (they kind of remind me of clown pants), look really elegant. I also love the coloured footwear. It reminds me a lot of Peter Som's A/Wo7 collection, where he pairs monochrome with bright footwear and accessories. Just a little hint of colour.

I've never been a big fan of orange before but I love those shoes. Delia's has pretty cool patent coloured shoes, but the shipping to Australia is ridiculous.

and so just used the velvet and I also got a bit slack towards the end for all the beading. Still its pretty awesome.ACTION SHOT!!!!! -->
This jacket is ridiculously embellished so you can only pair really plain things with it. And pretty much the only colour that works is white. However, if I couldn't be bothered and I have to look nice or dressed up, it's the simplest thing to throw on.

So, the Marc Jacobs show was yesterday or maybe even today Austalian time, and it was very interesting. There are certain designers who usually 'lead' trends and while lots of others are still playing with proportion, Jacobs appears to have 'pared' back this collection.
It really is very seventies, lots of hats and higher waistlines. Some ensembles reminded me of JLo (because of the hats) while others reminded me of the great Diane Keaton (with the suits and gloves and the awesome waistcoats).

Particularly, the outfit in the middle reminds of present day awards show Diane. I think it's the turtleneck. Some of the duchess satin dresses remind a little bit of last season Prada, but all in all, it could be said the change is in the air and Marc caught on quickly.

(which you can puchase online from Mr Bling), to t-shirts making reference to rap superstars NWA,
However, one look that I hope won't catch on (within the non-rap/hip hop community) is grills. I genuinely believe that this is one look that would be very difficult to attempt if you had very little credibility.

The outfit kinda has a whole innocent 'Madeline' vibe to it but it is made interesting and edgier by the scarf around the neck and how the proportions have been altered (socks above knee, high-waisted skirt, long sleeves poking out and slightly oversized jacket with awesome buttons). I also love how it all kind of matches but not exactly.
At New York Fashion Week, socks have also been used by several designers as accessories. In particular is Alice Roi, who stated that this collection was inspired by Madeline (hence the title of this post). Roi's Madeline isn't exactly all fun and games, pooh-poohing tigers and such. Rather, its a fairly dark collection (appropriate for the coming months). The socks are only mid-calf which is a hard length to wear but they give the outfits a certain something.
